JAZZ

One of the most popular and well known forms of dance. Jazz dance includes strength, flexibility and conditioning technique and progressions including turns, kicks and leaps. In a Jazz class the dancers also learn many fun and trendy dance steps that are used for all forms of dance. It is a wonderful class to get a well rounded variety of all dance steps. Dancers will learn choreography to popular and age appropriate music of today along with vintage styles of jazz from the last decades. This is a perfect class to start your dance training.

INTRO JAZZ

For the dancer who has been in Creative Movement and/or wants to try the dance form of Jazz.  Dancers will learn the basic steps of jazz dance with turns, kicks, and leap steps along with popular simple rhythm techniques and fun expression.  We use fun, popular and age appropriate music.

JAZZ 1

 Increasing technique that builds on intro jazz for more complex moves and intricate timing while working on performance quality.

JAZZ 2

Designed for students as an extension of Beginning Jazz Dance. The class will be faster paced and will expect students to have an understanding of basic jazz dance. Individually created choreography will be introduced. We use fun, popular and age appropriate music.

JAZZ 3

 Class format consists of a warm-up to enhance core strengthening, balance, and extensions through isolations, rhythmic exercises, and floor stretches. Students study jazz technique, and learn to build complex combinations and routines. Class includes across the floor patterns and dance routines. 

JAZZ 4

This class introduces an advanced level of jazz movements and terminology. Students must have a solid dance foundation as this class moves at a very fast pace. Focus on style and technique, including longer and more difficult combinations requiring more control, incorporating bigger leaps (seconds, switch, scissor, etc.), more turns (triple pirouettes, a la seconde turns, etc.) and higher kicks. Each class will consist of a warm-up, across the floor, proper jazz technique, and combinations.
