Serena Long

At the young age of two Serena was full of spunk and drive. She showed an interest in many sports including soccer, softball, gymnastics and dance. Gymnastics became her main focus for several years as she became a competitive gymnast working her way through the levels. Dance always seemed to be in the background, however, and she never really gave it up. Serena danced with the Fine Arts Academy where she performed for many years on the Disney back lot stages in Anaheim. She has experience in tap, ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical and hip hop. She danced under the direction of Bob Woodard and June Greenwalt for many years. Serena danced in the Dreamweaver productions and was part of the AIM company team for two years where she earned many awards. After entering Atascadero High School, Serena decided to give the cheer team a try. She has worked for the last two summers at the Ravine Water Park in Paso Robles and loves working with kids. Serena’s other accomplishments include Girl Scouts where she earned her bronze award along with leadership and peer mentoring. Serena had the opportunity to be a student PE teacher at Monterey Road Elementary School making lesson plans and executing them with the students. It was through this and many other opportunities that Serena has decided to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher. Serena is now 17 and in her senior year of High School. She spends her Friday nights cheering as the Varsity Captain, leading her team. She is looking forward to her next adventure as an instructor with the AIM team! Next year she will begin pursuing her dream of going to college and becoming an elementary school teacher, but dance will always be a part of her life!
